Jonathan has recently accepted an invitation to become Chairman of the Lord Berners Trust. Berners’ (1883-1950) is one of the most interesting stories in twentieth-century British music. An artist, writer and composer, his extravagant lifestyle and wider circle of artist friends was the stuff of legend. Stravinsky is reputed to have referred to Berners as the best British composer of his generation.
