JDC 17th 2

Welcome! I’m a British organist and academic. My main focus is English music and culture, but I’m also interested in digital humanities and death studies. I hold the post of Lecturer in Academic Studies at the Royal Academy of Music in London, having previously been Frank Bridge Research Fellow at the Royal College of Music and OCVE Research Associate at Cambridge University.

I’ve recently published a volume of Herbert Howells’ piano music and released a digital album of music by Bach & Saxton. I’m currently working on two books – an edited volume on the music of Frank Bridge and a biography of Herbert Howells. I sit on various committees including the British Music Society and Musica Britannica. I’m also a trustee for a number of musical charities including Multitude of Voyces, the Lord Berners Trust and the Sir George Dyson Trust.

This site gives you a little taste of my writing and playing. Details of forthcoming performances and lectures also appear here. Do get in touch!
